The Cathedra Petri, also known as the "Throne of St. Peter," is the main artistic feature located in the apse of St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Created by the artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini and completed in 1666, this bronze structure surrounds the original wooden and ivory Chair of St. Peter. The throne dominates the front section of the basilica and is centered beneath a stained glass window with a warm amber tone. In the middle of the window is a white dove, representing the Holy Spirit—hence the name "Dove of the Holy Spirit." The time it was built, along with its elliptical design and dramatic use of light, mark it as a piece from the Baroque era.
This exquisite bilaminate silver icon presents a meaningful symbol of faith. The finely crafted piece showcases the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove, a powerful emblem of peace, purity, and divine guidance. The silver layer is carefully applied to a sturdy and elegant wooden base, providing a natural and complementary backdrop. Designed with versatility in mind, this icon can be easily hung on a wall to create a focal point in any room or displayed gracefully on a tabletop, shelf, or altar. The bilaminate silver offers a beautiful sheen and a touch of elegance, making this Holy Spirit dove icon a cherished addition to any home or a thoughtful religious gift. Its dual display options make it a truly adaptable piece for personal devotion or spiritual décor. Made in Italy.
