The Cathedra Petri, also known as the "Throne of St. Peter," is the main artistic feature located in the apse of St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Created by the artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini and completed in 1666, this bronze structure surrounds the original wooden and ivory Chair of St. Peter. The throne dominates the front section of the basilica and is centered beneath a stained glass window with a warm amber tone. In the middle of the window is a white dove, representing the Holy Spirit—hence the name "Dove of the Holy Spirit." The time it was built, along with its elliptical design and dramatic use of light, mark it as a piece from the Baroque era. Made in Italy.
